A cashierless store is a store that is run without the need of tradional cashiers. Customers enter the store and identify themselves via app. They can easily grab products from the shelves and leave the shop without physically checking out. The payment is automatically processed and summed up in the app. Typically a cashierless store is equipped with various sensors and cameras that track the customers movement. The technology used is state of the art and includes machine learning and computer vision. As the technological set-up is complex and expensive, cashierless stores are not commonly seen yet.
